One way to help with this is to make sure you really need to incorporate everything on your to-do list into your wedding day. A prime example of this would be a wedding ceremony program. If you are unfamiliar with what this exactly is, it is something that is usually handed out to the guests prior to the wedding beginning. It lists the days events, what they entail, and when they will occur. Question is though, is a wedding ceremony program a must have?

Actually, the choice is ultimately yours. When I was married almost ten years ago, we really didn’t see the need for a wedding ceremony program so we went without one and things turned out just fine. Everyone knew what was happening during the wedding and we had no casualties due to confusion.

On the other hand, my sister got married last year and she opted for a wedding ceremony program. She was concerned because she had a rather large wedding compared to mine (she had 300 guests, I had 120 guests), and felt it would keep the tone of the wedding moving smoothly. Personally I didn’t see any difference between my wedding and hers thanks to the wedding program.

Of course it is a nice touch. It also shows the time, detailing, and planning you put into making your day perfect. But if it will stretch your budget or make you frazzled and stressed, it is definitely not a necessity. You can still have a memorable, classy, and beautiful wedding day with out it. The choice is yours.

Brides especially like to honor their bridesmaids with a thank you gift when the wedding day arrives. Often though, buying bridesmaid gifts can be difficult. Because of how special the bridesmaid is to the bride, they want something memorable. I have been a bridesmaid so many times I can’t count them all. I was always extremely honored to be asked, and never said no.

As far as bridesmaid gifts, I have gotten some beautiful things. Gifts that you know took the bride time and effort into choosing just the right one for me. Then there are the gifts that can be put into a “generic” category. Meaning that the bride bought one gift, the same gift, for all the bridesmaids involved in the wedding. In most cases that is just fine to do, but the others are a bit more personal and meaningful. A true thank you for sharing in their special day with them.

My sister got married a few years ago. She had eight bridesmaids in her wedding and was searching for bridesmaid gifts for literally months. She was certain that she wanted to find individual gifts to give to each of her bridesmaids not the “generic” kind I mentioned earlier.  After searching she did ending up finding the perfect gift for each of her bridesmaids. They loved the gifts and still speak about how caring and generous she was.

If you are in the midst of planning your wedding and wondering what to thank your bridesmaids with, the choice is ultimately yours and yours alone. Just remember that no matter what you decide to purchase if you lead with your heart, they will more then likely cherish it for a very long time to come.

Choosing wedding favors can sometimes be a grueling task.  There usually aren’t many to choose from in your local stores, especially not any that are unique.  Lucky for you I have a few ideas that are different from the norm.

These include:

A kitchen timer. Who doesn’t spend at least a few hours a day in the kitchen.  Think about how thrilled they’ll be to get something useful on your wedding day?

A measuring tape. I am constantly needing to “measure” something and can never find anything to do it with.  I’d be pleased with this cute little gift as a wedding favor.

A small picture frame. Your guest might even put a picture of you and your groom in it to remember you long after the wedding has passed.

Olive oil bottle. Beautiful and unique this will be a nice accessory for your guests to carry home, use and admire long after your wedding day.

These are just a few unique wedding favors that step away from the norm and leave your guests smiling.

So, are you truly ready for your wedding day?  Are you worried about the details or will you enjoy the day?  Don’t get hung up in the details, please enjoy the wonderful experience for what it is.  One of the things I hope that you will be sure to do is to capture your wedding in pictures.

Then, not only that but create a wedding album that you can enjoy and pick up and look at for years to come.  Just yesterday some friends of mine were saying they had never put together their wedding albums.  My first thought was “you’re kidding right?” My wedding album is a priced possession.  Maybe I’m just a little sentimental.

Seriously though girls,  when I ask the question, “are you ready for your wedding day?” I know you’re saying yes, but I want you to consider what is most important to you, and plan and prioritize accordingly.  Then be sure to capture your wedding in pictures, store them in a beautiful wedding album and be able to look back on the day fondly.

The right topper could even be used after the wedding is over. With the styles available today they make wonderful reminders that you can set on a table or bookshelf to look at each day. These are for more than decoration; they are a lovely reminder of your special day for you and your groom.

A lot of these can be personalized. They may have your names and wedding date or just your initials. This may greatly depend on the topper you choose. Some are designed with your initials while others can have whatever you want engraved.

You can even add a picture of the bride and groom on top of the cake itself. This is a wonderful way to personalize things a bit. Rather than a plastic bride and groom, you have the actual couple there to view. Your biggest problem may be deciding which picture you want to use.

If you want to be creative then you could even make your very own topper. You can use artificial flowers and lace or ribbon and whatever else you want to make something you will love. This might also be a wonderful idea if you have a hard to place theme for your wedding. For a beach wedding you could even use sea shells.

You might want to have more than one topper especially if you have multiple cakes. You can link these to create a theme or use one central topper as a centerpiece. You could have your names on one and the wedding date on another.

Even the traditional toppers have come a long way. Aside from the bride and groom they even offer them for same sex weddings. They have a few that are comical with the bride dragging the groom to the altar. They also offer toppers for interracial weddings.
