Two Become One – The Unity Candle

Even though many weddings today seem to be modern in style, many brides and grooms still attempt to include some tradition as well. It is very popular not only to keep up with the times, but to continue a family tradition whatever that tradition may be. I remember when I was getting married almost ten years ago. I was set on having a “hip” wedding, but it was also important to me to include some traditional aspects as well. One of those aspects was a wedding unity candle that has been handed down in my family for generations. If you are getting married and don’t have any long standing traditions, feel free to start one of your own. Wedding unity candles are a great suggestion. If you are not aware of what this is, it is a candle that is lighted during a wedding ceremony to symbolize the union of two people. They can be extremely ornate or very simple, the choice is yours. They are also reasonably priced, so their is no need to break the budget. What is nice about a wedding unity candle is in most instances it is only lit a short time, so it becomes a great keepsake. What is also special is that the candle is usually encompassed in a holder of some sort. So the candle portion can be replaced if needed. This allows it to be used in literally generations of weddings. If you want to start your own wedding tradition, consider a wedding unity candle. You won’t be disappointed.
