Bride's parent deceased

When one of the bride's parents is deceased, the living parent may issue the announcement in his or her own name. It is acceptable to make reference to the deceased parent (especially if the loss is fairly recent).

announces the engagement
of her daughter
Miss Donalyn Hawkins
to
Mr. Richard Freeman
Miss Hawkins is also the daughter
of the late John Hawkins
