The Engagement Party

Everyone loves a party, and an engagement party can be especially festive. Depending on your social group, the party can follow traditional format, aim simply for a good time, or anything in between.

• The bride's parents, the groom's family,  the couple themselves, or anyone may give a party to celebrate the engagement.
• The engagement party is usually informal and held in a home or restaurant.
• The invitations can be given by handwritten note, phone, or e-mail.

It is traditional, at the party, for the father of the bride to propose a toast to the couple. The groom should then offer a toast to the bride and her parents. After that, anyone else who wishes to toast the couple may do so.

Please remember that it is important to sincerely thank anyone who hosts any kind of party in honor of the bride and groom.
